  BULL IN THE BASEMENT

  Dec. 09

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving with family and friends. I should have worn my stretchy waist pants with all the good food I ate. It did however keep me from falling asleep as I am told there is something in turkey that causes one to drop off. I floated between being uncomfortable and eyes lids at half mast but I made it....

I want to thank everyone for tuning in to Bull in the Basement, which I will now refer to BitB for obvious reasons. We will try and bring an interview or good story once a month

(for starters) I hope you will enjoy ...

Next week BitB will be visiting a vintage race car shop in Appleton WI. We will be interviewing Chis Hartwig, owner of Crystal Printing and his driver Ben Peotter on what it is like owning and driving in vintage racing events across the country. I will try and bring interesting facts to the surface that might not otherwise be asked and I hope you will find it entertaining. Did I mention it will be video taped? You can watch it on BitB at anytime after posting.

  SEMA Show:

If you have not visited the website since my return from SEMA, I have a photo album of some pretty cool cars as well as some celebrities. It is on the nav bar which I think will change to reflect the current newsletter. My intentions are they will be  archived and always available to be viewed. Some details to be worked out as we go.

  Personal:

The magazine TOP GEAR flew in from the UK to do a story on  the car and I just before Thanksgiving. I didn't expect it to be any different than ones from the past. You know, send a few pictures and they seem to make up stuff  taken from my website. It was a 10 hour interview and photo shoot and we shared stories over grilled brats and Spotted Cows. I tried my hardest not to start talking in a Brit accent but I noticed it start to creep in after the beer! Andrew who lives just north of London was fascinating and our family enjoyed his company.

TOP GEAR is the largest auto magazine in the UK and is printed in 23 different countries. I am told it will be the feature story and I am looking forward to actually seeing it go to print....I will keep you posted.

Nov. 09
Winning the E-bay Motors Master of 2009 contest, I was featured at the SEMA show in Las Vegas Nov.3-6. The SEMA show stands for Specialty Equipment Market Assc. It is the worlds largest  gathering to pay homage to the aftermarket world of anything automotive. A total of 52 miles if you walked from start to finish according to Sam Memmolo (Shadetree Mech.) My feet concur!
I had a few moments between commitments with E-bay and MotorZ TV to rub elbows with a few celebrities. None other than Chip Foose, car designer extraordinaire, Dave and Sam from Shadetree Mechanic, John Force 14 time NHRA Funny Car champion, and Randy Pobst World Challenge GT champion and 24 hrs of Daytona winner...to name a few.
Here is a small sample of what you will see at the SEMA show. Everything from a rotary cycle to the GoodGuys Street Machine of the Year. The "CI-RS 62 Corvette" from the Roadster Shop in IL. friends of mine just over the border.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did and if you ever get the chance to go to SEMA, you can't help but walk away with a smile on your face knowing the passion and creativity of the automobile is alive and well!!!-Ken
